Online Counselling & Psychotherapy
Anywhere in Ontario
Choose to Thrive offers online counselling and psychotherapy to individuals and couples throughout Ontario. Sessions are held virtually, so no matter where you're located in the province, you can connect from home, work, or anywhere with a private, quiet space.
How Online Counselling Works
Sessions are conducted through a secure, encrypted video platform, giving you the same confidentiality and professionalism as an in-person appointment — without the commute. All that's needed is a private space and a device with internet access.
who is it for
Whether you're in Toronto, Mississauga, Ottawa, Hamilton, or a smaller Ontario town like Thunder Bay, you don't need to live near a therapist's office to get consistent, professional support.
support available for ontario clients
Individual and couples counselling sessions are available, drawing on approaches like EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for anxiety, trauma, and stress.

Your Questions answered:
Do I need to be located in Ontario to book a session?
Yes — since counselling regulation is provincial, you'll need to be physically located in Ontario during your session. Katya is registered to practice in Ontario as well as BC.
How long does a session take?
Sessions typically run 50-80 minutes, with intensive-format options also available for EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

What's needed on my end?
Just a private, quiet space and a device with internet access, a camera, and a microphone — sessions are held on a secure, encrypted video platform.

Does it matter where in Ontario I am?
Not at all — whether you're in Toronto, Ottawa, a smaller town, or anywhere in between, the experience is the same.
Is there a non-video option?
Yes, phone-based sessions are available if video isn't your preference.
Does online therapy actually work as well as in-person?
Yes — studies show virtual therapy is comparable in effectiveness to in-person counselling for anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship concerns.
